“I dig the funny, charming craziness of Rhymes With Orange.” —Matt Groening, creator, The Simpsons
Hilary Price is a cartoonist, storyteller, and speaker. Rhymes with Orange, her award-winning comic strip, appears in newspapers internationally. She teaches workshops on single panel cartooning at The Center for Cartoon Studies.
Hilary graduated from Stanford University in 1992 and wrote ad copy to support herself while sending her cartoons to various newspapers and syndicates. At age 25, she became the youngest-ever syndicated cartoonist when King Features Syndicate bought her comic Rhymes with Orange for distribution in 1995. The comic has appeared in Parade Magazine, People, and in The Library of Congress and has won the Best Newspaper Panel Cartoon Award of the National Cartoonists Society in 2007, 2009, and 2012. Rhymes with Orange doesn’t use recurring characters, instead relying on individual, one-panel “gags” on topics ranging from zombies to medical woes.
Hilary has told stories for The Moth and NPR, and in 2015, she was given an Inkpot Award for career achievement in comic arts from the San Diego Comic-Con International.
When not at her desk, Hilary walks her overly large dog and spoils her hoodlum cat. She lives in western Massachusetts, and her favorite thing to draw is dogs.
