“Vo has a gentle way of showing us the benefits of connecting to plant medicines and Mother Earth— I trusted this exploration of the both inner and outer worlds created.” —Saeeda Hafiz, author of The Healing: One Woman's Journey from Poverty to Inner Riches
Christina Vo is an author based in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where she continues to write and explore the interplay of culture, identity, and personal history. Her work reflects her commitment to understanding and sharing the complexities of the human experience.
Her second book, My Vietnam, Your Vietnam, a Ms. Magazine most anticipated Feminist Books of 2024 and a Smithsonian Magazine’s Ten Best Books About Travel in 2024, chronicles the journeys of her father, who fled post-war Vietnam on a small boat to find refuge in the United States, and Christina, who ventures to Vietnam as an adult, capturing the stark contrast between their perspectives as they strive to heal the long-term wounds of war. Foreword Reviews described the memoir as “A stunning, prismatic memoir about Vietnam’s past and present as experienced by two generations.”
Christina is also the author of The Veil Between Two Worlds: A Memoir of Silence, Loss, and Finding Home, a memoir recounting her road trip with one of her closest friends, David, as they journey from San Francisco to Santa Fe. Throughout her travels, she reflects on her relationships, her past experiences in Santa Barbara and Ojai, and her evolving understanding of her relationship with her parents.
Christina attempts to carve out time to focus on her personal writing, while spending her days working in donor relations for Stanford University. She has worked internationally for UNICEF in Vietnam, the World Economic Forum in Switzerland, as well served as a consultant for nonprofits. Christina holds an MSc in social and public communication from the London School of Economics.
